Holdfasts are traditional cleats that are used in pairs for wrapping Roman, Austrian or Festoon blind cords around. One holdfast is fixed above the other and the cords are wrapped round the top holdfast and then around the bottom one. As this system of a pair of cleats can accomodate a lot of cord, this makes them particularly suitable for long blinds. The greater the distance between the holdfasts, the more cord they can accommodate.
