Please note: You are ordering the length of bead chain in metres not the number of chains. The chain will be supplied in one continuous length. If you are ordering for more than one blind then please ensure you order the correct number of metres of bead chain for all of your blinds.

Use to join plastic or metal bead chains.
Joiner will breakaway to prevent strangulation risk.

The correct position of the breakaway device is just below the chain drive, on the down side of the chain, when the blind is fully up. This ensures that the operating load on the chain breakaway device is the least possible because the weight of the blind is working with the breakaway device.

To be compliant with child safety regulations a Merrick & Day chain must be used.

CONTINUOUS BEAD CHAIN - IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE:
When using a standard chain drive the continuous chain must be fitted with a chain tensioner (CHSAFE-R) screwed to the wall no lower than 150cm from the floor. If the chain drive is with child safety breakaway then the chain may be no lower than 60cm from the floor.

State the exact length you would like the chain in the box provided.

To calculate maximum allowable chain length to comply with child safety regulations:

Chain Drive WITHOUT Child Safety Breakaway
Max drop of chain = (Height of headrail from floor in cm - 150cm)
Length of chain = drop x 2
Chain Drive WITH Child Safety Breakaway
Max drop of chain = (Height of headrail from floor in cm - 60cm)
Length of chain = drop x 2

The R clip (CHSAFE-R) tensioning device to be installed no lower than 150cm from the floor.
